A family estate for 7 generations, with a fine barrel cellar.
The vineyards and wines have long since developed their own distinctive character.
The estate is perched on one of the best gravelly plateaux in the appellation.
What’s more, the vineyard, which has benefited from the same attentive care for 7 generations, is made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon (a Pomerol-type grape variety), which is why Château des Gravières was already recognised and appreciated at the beginning of the 20th century in the Wine Bars of the Chartrons, the area favoured by Bordeaux wine merchants and connoisseurs.
