Château Couhins is located in Villenave d’Ornon, just outside Bordeaux. Long owned by a family of wine merchants, it was classified in 1959. The estate now belongs to INRA, the French National Institute for Agronomic Research, which saved it from extinction in 1968.
Château Couhins has benefited from the most advanced research into sustainable viticulture, and as such has become a benchmark in the field of environmental protection.
At the same time, after years of hard work, the vineyard has regained its classified growth status. Its recognised quality has opened the doors to the Bordeaux wine trade, where it is now regarded as a rising star.
The white wine of Couhins is recommended for its delicate bouquet of spring flowers, its fullness, its liveliness, and its persistence on the palate, to which the Sauvignon grape contributes powerfully.
