A veritable natural treasure, the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park covers almost a million hectares, offering an incredible diversity of landscapes, from majestic pine forests to lakes and the River Leyre.

It is home to exceptional flora and fauna, with emblematic species such as the grey crane. Nature lovers will be delighted by the many hiking trails, ideal for exploring the area in complete tranquillity.

The Landes de Gascogne is also the cradle of age-old traditions, particularly in crafts and agriculture. To find out all about local traditions, head to Sabres in the Landes. The Marquèze eco-museum offers a trip back in time on a historic locomotive, in the Marquèze district recreated as it was in 1890. You can taste the traditional pastis, or learn to dance the Gascon dance!

Not everything is whispered in your ear, so to make your life easier, their escapades and little jaunts are now online. Here you’ll find the enthusiasm and commitment that drive them, the promise of moments of complicity alone, as a couple or with the family.

On this website you’ll find: their portraits, their accommodation (under the heading “Escapades”) and their suggestions for leisure activities (under the heading “Vadrouilles”).

The imaginaterres :
committed to ecotourism

The “Cercle des Imaginaterres” now brings together around fifty service providers (accommodation providers, tourist activity providers, craftspeople, producers, etc.), federated by the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, who are aware of the challenges of sustainable development and committed to more responsible tourism.

Close to nature and aware of the region’s rich heritage, these players share the values of the Regional Nature Park, which supports them in a virtuous tourism approach. On a daily basis, they strive to place solidarity, the environment, a generous welcome and the Gascony identity at the heart of their offer, and in the best possible way, they are putting themselves at the service of the adage “Another kind of tourism is being invented here”. True pioneers of tomorrow’s tourism, “être Imaginaterres” commits them to a voluntary progress approach to better environmental and social management of their structure.

Renovations using eco-responsible materials, ecological gardens, optimised waste management, measured energy consumption – these are just some of the concrete actions that our tourism service providers have implemented in their facilities to meet the challenges of sustainable tourism.
