La Micro-Folie – Digital museum and virtual reality to Langon

The range of cultural activities on offer in Langon is being further expanded with the opening of a Micro-Folie at the Centre culturel des Carmes, a scheme supported by the French Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette, which allows visitors to travel through art, history and science on their own, with family or friends.

Concretely, it’s a veritable digital museum coming to life, making some 5,000 masterpieces and content from a hundred or so national and international museums and institutions (the Centre Pompidou, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Centre National des Arts du Cirque and the Cité des Sciences, for example) freely accessible. Treasures from France’s national heritage rub shoulders with works and objects from cultures around the world, as well as operas, choreographic pieces, theatre and a wealth of documentary resources.
