Church of Saint-Martin d’Insos to Prechac

Under the Ancien Régime, the former parish of Insos belonged to the seigneury of Cazeneuve. After the French Revolution, it became part of Préchac. This church, isolated on the moor, has recently been restored. The well-preserved Romanesque chevet is pierced by lancets and crowned by a cornice with sculpted and historiated modillions. The church has a very fine 14th-century gabled bell tower with buttresses of a military nature. To the north is a turret containing a spiral staircase. The portal opens at the base, is simple and elegantly crafted, and comprises three transomed colonettes, three voussoirs and an archivolt.
