Basilique Notre-Dame de Verdelais to Verdelais
This is the most famous pilgrimage site in the Gironde, with a miraculous statue of the Virgin made of polychrome chestnut wood, estimated to date from the 14th century. The Basilica brings together the different contributions of past centuries. In particular, you can admire the Baroque choir, which took on its current appearance in 1666. The nave has been enriched with “naïve” paintings, painted ex-votos from the 18th century, marine ex-votos, ex-voto hearts, marbles…. The nearby museum of religious art is unique in the region.
